Turner A-12

The series of 1875 Distilled Spirits Tax Paid coupon stamps featured this rather severe portrait of Lincoln. Turner listed proofs of only six denominations. The values in this series run in ten gallon increments, from 10 through 130 gallons. Unique to each denomination are the green lathework patterns which frame the stamp, as well as the style of the inscriptions on either side of Lincoln's portrait. Below is an XF example of the 50 gallon denomination, on india on card.
