WARNING UPDATE: As posted on 11/14/2005, it would appear that images of essay and proof material published on this website are being reproduced on paper (of antique appearance) and being sold as "fakes" or "forgeries" on a well-known online auction web site. While the "forgery" disclaimer is made on these listings, the use of our images without permission is an infringement of our copyright policy and furthermore represents an egregious theft of intellectual property.

We are currently investigating which of our images may have been used to produce these fakes, and we will imminently be receiving actual copies of some of these items for examination. We count at least 11 items which appear to have been derived from images published here. This is just a preliminary count, there may be more. ALL OF THE ITEMS IN QUESTION FEATURE PORTRAITS OF WASHINGTON OR LINCOLN. There are also postage and Sanitary Fair fakes listed for sale, many of which appear to be copies of images derived from this and other phialtelic websites.

This existence of this Museum is the result of thousands of unpaid hours of work and dedication, and it is wholly wrong for anyone to engage in the practice of using our images for commercial gain without permission.

In light of this current situation, we would like to ask anyone considering bidding on such items to refrain from doing so. Please email us if you have any questions about these items or our copyright policy.
